Congratulations! Prof. Zhiqiang Mao has recently been elected a fellow of the American Physical Society

Prof. Zhiqiang Mao has recently been elected a fellow of the American Physical Society, an honor limited to at most 0.5% of APS members in any given year. Prof. Mao received this honor for “contributions to the understanding of magnetism and superconductivity in iron-based superconductors and correlated electron states in ruthenates”.

Prof. Mao has gained international recognition in the research area of quantum materials. He has published 246 peer-reviewed papers, including 25 in Physical Review Letters, 4 in Nature, one in Nature Materials, one in Nature Communications, one in Science and 69 in Physical Review B. His published papers have been widely cited, with the citation H-index of 39. Prof. Mao has also been honored with several other prestigious awards, including the NSF Career Award, Cottrell Scholar Award, and the Tulane Presidential Early Career Development Award. His research projects have been supported by the National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Army Research Office, Research Corporation and Louisiana Board of Regents. Prof. Mao became the first holder of endowed Nicholas J. Altiero Professorship in Science and Engineering in 2011
